Summer 2026 report reveals patients prioritize subtle results and skin tightening
Only 9.1 percent of aesthetic patients follow a structured, long-term treatment plan, meaning clinics have a massive opportunity to convert transactional patients into recurring revenue by emphasizing progressive care. According to the NewBeauty Q2 2026 State of Aesthetics survey, patients are increasingly practical and protective of their injectables budgets. While 51.5 percent of respondents report becoming more cautious with their spending over the last six months, only 11 percent would cut aesthetic treatments first, choosing instead to trim dining out and nail care.
Patients are also demanding a shift in treatment goals. Over half, at 50.6 percent, want results so subtle that nobody notices they had work done. On the body side, GLP-1 medications are changing clinical conversations. Among patients who have lost weight on these medications, 42 percent rank loose or sagging skin as their primary complaint, while 64 percent name body skin tightening as their top wish-list treatment. Only 9.4 percent are primarily concerned with residual fat. To capture these shifting budgets, providers should pivot consultation protocols from fat reduction to energy-based skin tightening, while structuring low-key, multi-session packages that feel like essential maintenance.
