United Kingdom will require licensing for cosmetic injectables starting July 2026

The Department of Health and Social Care will require all practitioners administering cosmetic injectables in the United Kingdom to be registered, accredited, and fully compliant by July 2026. This legislative shift mandates that clinics offering dermal fillers and botulinum toxins meet strict safety and hygiene standards, giving local authorities the power to inspect facilities and issue fines for non-compliance.

Under these rules, practitioners must hold recognized, accredited training qualifications ranging from Level 2 up to Level 7 beauty and aesthetics courses, such as those certified by VTCT, NVQ, and ITEC. These include specific Level 3 and Level 7 qualifications depending on the depth of the procedures. Additionally, any promotional materials issued by a clinic must clearly state the risks and expected outcomes of each treatment.
